Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s newest and smallest national park, covering 370 km². It features stunning wetlands and diverse habitats, including the Rubanga Forest and open savannah, providing excellent opportunities to see wildlife.
Home to herds of zebras, buffaloes, impalas, elands, and antelopes, the park also hosts hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species such as cormorants and fish eagles.
You wake up early at your accommodation in Kampala and depart around 6 a.m. for Lake Mburo National Park, located approximately 240 km southwest. After about 3 to 4 hours of driving, you stop at the Uganda Equator crossing for coffee and photos before continuing through beautiful countryside.
Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive in the park, where you may see wildlife such as Rothschild’s giraffes, topis, warthogs, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, impalas, and Burchell’s zebras. After lunch, embark on a scenic boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you might spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, and birds like the African fish eagle.
In the evening, you will return to Kampala after a day of adventure.
